Tale of Two Cities DVD.
Release date 15 July !     New CD "Troubadour Nights"
Andy DVD When the house is rockin' with the big horn section and Cowan's soulful vocals and keyboards are right out front, this is killer stuff.
(Jeff Glorfeld - The Age Entertainment Guide)

His songs and style reach back into the very heart of Blues and Soul. Cowan shows himself to be a great songwriter and musician.
(Ed Nimmervoll - Music Australia Guide Magazine)

Since 1999, Andy Cowan has released four albums through ABC/Warner Music to glowing reviews. He represented Australia in Memphis USA at the International Blues Convention and received an ARIA Nomination for his CD "10.30 Thursdays", whilst "One of These Days"was voted Blues Album of the Year.

"A Tale of Two Cities" filmed live at The Basement in Sydney and The Corner Hotel in Melbourne, was released in 2005 as a Special Edition Boxed Set which included the CD "Sweet Release" plus a 2 hour DVD of solo and twelve piece band performances with special guests including the "Horns from Hell ".

One of Australia's most experienced and talented singer/songwriter/pianists in the Soul-Blues  idiom, Andy has been described justifiably as the "King of the Keys". He ripples, rolls and rocks through original compostitions with passionate and soulful vocals, wrapping the audience in his energy and weaving an emotional and spellbinding magic. Andy has evolved into a refined and sophisticated songwriter/performer, arriving at his music after a long and winding journey - the resulting confidence, maturity and taste are well earned and deeply embedded.

Andy's musical career began in Melbourne, Australia, growing up in a household surrounded by music. Following classical piano studies, he began exploring improvisation, and absorbing musical ideas from soul, blues, and folk artists developing his very own signature style that has matured over time.

In his late teens Andy played and recorded with many well-known Australian and overseas musicians, as well as piano and keyboard arrangements on many film scores - including the cult movie Stone .

Andy's third album, "10.30 Thursdays" received exellent reviews from critics, both in Australia and overseas, and was voted Album of the Year 2001 Raw Talent Music Awards (Plenty Valley FM).
"10.30 Thursdays" was nominated for blues & roots Album of the Year at the Aria Awards 2001.

"..simply superb leaving you anticipating the next Andy Cowan date."
Lee Howard (Sunday Herald-Sun)

Andy's second album, "One of these Days" - recorded live with his then band "Big Mamas Door" at the East Coast Blues Festival - Byron Bay, the St. Andrews Hotel and the Queenscliff Music Festival captured the energy and atmosphere of his live perfomances and was named Blues Album of the Year 2000 at the VicTas Music Awards:

"..nothing but pure class" Mark Doherty (Rhythms Magazine)

Andy's first album "Train I'm On" launched him as one of the premier artists on the Australian festival circuit. ABC Radio placed the title track from the album on rotation resulting in a national profile.

" A terrific little prize, swampy vocals on a foundation of virtuosic piano playing."
Gary Tippett (The Age)
